The Muslim Welfare Society Bardoli is a charity registered non-profit organization located in Bardoli, District-Surat, South Gujarat, India. The trust was established by the Muslim community of Bardoli, with the intention to provide medical services at subsidized rates to those from less privileged socio-economic backgrounds regardless of their religion.
The trust began humbly in 1978 as a medical clinic, serving its patients from a single room. Over time and with an increased demand for services, the trust developed in 2011 to form the Jamnaba Sarvajanik Hospital, delivering low cost quality health care to those who require it and this has always been fundamental to our core aims and objectives.
The land upon which the hospital was built was kindly donated by Mr Ramesh Mali and after whose mother, Jamnaba, the hospital is named. This emphasises the strong values of unity and the strong bond shared by the Muslim and Hindu community; despite the fact that the name Jamna is Hindu and the hospital managed by the Muslim community, it is one based on the values of mutual respect; with brotherhood, peace and harmony. Our Aims for the upcoming year
Alhamdulillah, the hospital has been running for nine years and we are pleased to inform you that the medical care provided in 2019 has surpassed many of our expectations. Page 8 of our annual reports states that the number of patients increased within all departments. In total 68,000 patients were served.
Furthermore, during 2019 the Bardoli Muslim Welfare Society raised over £70,000-00 pounds for the hospital project, enabling us to continue providing affordable, subsidised and free medical care to the poor and needy. The total relief provided was £140,000-00 and we thank our Muslim community in the U.K for their support and without which this would not have been possible.
Due to the current Covid-19 epidemic it will be difficult for our volunteers to make collections in Mosques and personally visit you during Ramadan, therefore we are humbly asking you, our generous donors, to continue supporting the hospital’s humanity cause through your Lillah, Sadaqah and Zakat donations made via bank transfer. Your donations will continue to allow the hospital to subsidise the treatment of those eligible and in need of medical care.
Many individuals and families from challenging financial background, find it very difficult to afford and access health-care and often forego medical intervention until their conditions or illnesses become serious. This can be prevented. Therefore we urge you to donate generously as medical treatment is a matter of compassion towards the sick.
As a non-profit organisation, Jamnaba is different to other organisations as we do not view the sick and needy as a source of money or profit. Our goal is to bring relief to the sick and their loved ones. In addition to treatment, we are committed to the prevention of disease, the promotion of health and improving the quality of life of individuals and groups or communities.
Our ultimate aim is to bring accessible and affordable health care to those who require it most and we are fortunate to have supporters who share our ideas and are willing to stand with us.
